Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening (of The Simpsons fame) and developed with David X. Cohen. The show originally aired from 1999 to 2003 on Fox, and later from 2008 to 2013 on Comedy Central, with additional movie-length episodes and revivals.

Set in the 31st century, Futurama follows the adventures of Philip J. Fry, a pizza delivery boy who is cryogenically frozen in 1999 and awakens in the year 2999. He finds himself in a futuristic New York City filled with aliens, robots, mutants, and time-traveling oddities. Fry works at Planet Express, a delivery company staffed by a quirky crew including the alcoholic Professor Farnsworth, his great-granddaughter Leela, and the wisecracking robot Bender.
